In order to promote the exchange of scientific information for the advancement of the medical physics field at the international level, AAPM has established a program whereby its members may serve as Exchange Scientists. The host institutions may be universities, colleges, medical institutions, national laboratories, agencies or health ministries of the host countries. It is expected that activities of the Exchange Scientist reflect true scientific exchange endeavors and will be carried out without any financial support from the AAPM.
All financial arrangements, if any, are to be made directly between the requesting Host Institution and the appointed Exchange Scientist. In many cases the Scientists pay for the transportations to the nearest cities where airplanes or trains can reach. The Host Institutions provide accommodations and local transportations.
To become a Qualified Exchange Scientist, please read the Guidelines, complete the Qualified Scientist's Application Form in the Members section and send the form to the Chairman of the Exchange Scientist Program Subcommittee, or to the AAPM Headquarter.
