1G04-Medical Imaging: Optically guided localization in radiotherapy

Conventional methods of localization and immobilization have provided a certain level of accuracy and precision in target delineation and treatment delivery. The availability of dedicated CT and images from PET, MR and US have introduced the radiation therapy community to extensive information to enhance the treatment planning and delivery processes. It also has aided in the development of image-guided tools to further assure accurate and precise delivery. Additionally, 3D conformal and IMRT treatments require sub-millimeter accuracy. This can only be achieved using optically guided system. Principles, procedures and experience with these tools will be discussed.

       常规的定位和固定方法使靶区勾画和治疗实施达到了一定的准确度和精确度。专用CTPETMR US影像的使用,使放疗界获得了更加广泛的信息用于治疗计划和治疗实施。同时这也促进了影像引导工具的发展从而进一步确保了准确、精确地实施治疗。三维适形和调强放射治疗要求达到亚毫米的准确度,这只有通过光学引导系统才能实现。本讲将阐述使用这些工具的原则、过程和经验。
